Training Program Schedule
All ICPFC teams will play in the NISL(boys) or the IWSL(girls). The Seeding tournament for the NISL is usually held in early August. With this in mind team practices will begin the 3rd week of July.
Team Preseason Camp
Team ½ day camps will be scheduled beginning the 3rd week of July and will last for 1 full week. Once each team has completed their team camp, regular practice will begin.
Regular Season Practice
Each team will have regular season practice 2-3 times a week through out the outdoor season while league play is conducted. The practices will consist of 2 normal team practices and 1 speed/ agility/ conditioning (SAC) practice that will be held with a combination of other teams also. Normal team practices will be held on a Monday/ Wednesday or a Tuesday/ Thursday combination with SAC practice held on Friday. The SAC practice is highly recommended but is optional to those that want to participate. Practice times will normally be scheduled between the hours of
5:00 pm
thru
9:00 pm
depending on the time of year. Each practice will have a duration of 1 ½- 2 hours depending on the time of year. We reserve the right to add time to the length or number of practices depending on upcoming events (I.E.- tournaments, team specific needs). We may also substitute a practice time to schedule a “friendly” match with another team or club on occasion.
Special Camps/Practices
From time to time “special camps” or practices may be added on an as needed basis. These could consist of goalie training, footskills, finishing tactics, defensive tactics or passing tactical skills. Their will be no charge to club members for these camps/ practices as it benefits the players and the club.
Goalie Training
ICPFC recognizes that goalies have special needs. These needs will be addressed during regular season practices and during special camps & practices as described above.
Indoor Season
All ICPFC teams will participate in an indoor league. Currently at Lake County sports complex. Our philosophy on indoor is more focused on continued development for the outdoor season than on indoor league performance. This gives our players the opportunity to “brush up” on specific skills or learn new skills as they prepare to move back outdoors. We will also enter ICPFC teams in indoor tournaments as opportunity allows. Higher age brackets will also attend tournaments in various southern
U.S.
locations as opportunity allows. Their may be added costs incurred with these tournaments.
Indoor Practice
We have currently obtained indoor practice facilities thanks to the Waukegan public schools. ICPFC holds regularly scheduled practices for all teams during the indoor season. Currently 1 practice / week, 1 1/2- 2 hours in length. All players are expected to participate. |
